2007 foundart series Swiitzerland in progress - as some trick of serendipity would have it

leaving to travel from Ray Street - this peacock lived in my garden ... and it was the time i was writing haiku ... so here they are ... combined this is the first of the boards ... and (for various technical reasons) it turned out to be the last of the boards to reach resolution this, being the first, shows the various stages more than any of the other boards ... as you can see ....this one was first whited out creating the shapes - again from my pottery collection... then blacked out redefining the shapes and finally, again whited out redefining the redefining ! to see the final stages of evolution keep an eye out for the cards from this piece ... they are the ones numbered 65-75 (and in theory, should be lost (to be found) toward the end of august 2007, somewhere between Switzerland and Tasmania, the return journey.

2007 foundart series Swiitzerland in progress - the next 12

there are 6 boards of approximately A4 size cut into approximately 12 biz card sizes to make up the FOUND ART series ... one was discarded as 'lost' -unable to rescue it as a successful piece ... so today, i have ended up with 75 pieces - no more now ... the series has evolved to its end and i am out of time ... gotta pack now ! this is the third board ... keep in touch to see how the individual pieces go - i will post them as i lose them (to be found) ... the original collage was created in 1999 ... i placed a vermillion border around the piece to take it to the edge of the board. and this time rather than just working white over the colour and texture, i worked black over the colour and texture first... and then white over that ... creating black borders around the vase/pottery shapes.

2007 foundart series Swiitzerland - in progress the series continues

the next one ... this is the collage in 1999 it went right to the edges of the 30x23cm board 'worked' papers include digital printed, gesso, tissue, monoprint and gold leaf overpainted with white creating shapes from my ink bottle collection then cut into business cards size and lines enhanced with black and letraset lettering ...

2007 foundart series Swiitzerland - in progress - how the series begins

i took this collage made in 1999 (above) - it measures approximately 29x24cm (12x10") ... combination of shibori'd papers, calligraphy and gesso on matboard. i cleaned up the borders by painting a strip of vermillion gouache taking it right to the edge of the board. then i overpainted with white gouache creating vessel shapes using my campbells pottery collection as inspiration for the shapes. the board is then cut up into small business card sizes - approximately 7x5cm (3x2") and each one is individually worked making it a piece capable of standing on its own .... a small part of the whole. closeup in progress.
